Karossen har tillfälligt placerats på chassiet igen, dels av utrymmesskäl, men också för att den ska ha en stabil grund att stå på så att karossen inte ändrar form under det fortsatta renoveringsarbetet. Planen är att först rensa karossen från alla detaljer, sedan staga upp den med diverse tvärstag i kupén så att den inte ändrar form när den bärande trästrukturen demonteras. När sedan karossen är fri från alla detaljer och trä kommer den att lyftas av chassiet igen för att blästras och grundmålas. Därefter kommer den att rostlagas och nya trästrukturen att monteras, och till sist ska den nya inredningen sys på plats, men just nu känns det väldigt avlägset...

The body has temporarily been placed onto the chassis again, partly due to lack of space in my work shop, but also to have a stable foundation for the body during the continuing work. The plan is to first clear the body from all remaining parts, then stabilize it with some inside crossbars so it does not change its shape when the structural wood is dismantled. When the body is clear of all parts and wood, it will be lifted off the chassis again for blasting and priming. Thereafter, all the rust will be removed and new structural wood will be assembled, and finally, the new interior will be put into place, but right now it feels very far away...

Detalj från den högra bakre delen av kupén. Här kan man tydligt se det över 60 år gamla murkna originalträet, som i dessa bilar är en del av den bärande konstruktionen. Träslaget är ask, och nya trädetaljer av samma träslag kommer senare att tillverkas.

Instrumentpanelen och vindrutan demonterade. Kabelstammen med alla sladdar, strömbrytare och lampor samt defrostermunstyckena för vindrutan sitter fortfarande kvar.

The dashboard and windshield removed. The harness with cables, switches, light bulbs and defroster nozzles for the windshield is exposed.

Säkringsboxen. Även kabelstammen med samtliga elledningar för elsystemet måste bytas ut. Dessa ledningar är isolerade med gummi som för länge sedan har torkat sönder, och ytterhöljet av textil är förstört och har bleknat. Ny kabelstam kommer att tillverkas med nya PVC-isolerade ledningar, men som till det yttre kommer att vara identiska med originalet, eftersom de har samma färgade textilhölje som originalledningarna.

The fuse box. The harness with all electrical wiring must also be replaced. These old cables are insulated with rubber, which has dried and worn down, and the outer colored covering - which is made of fabric - is also damaged and has faded. New harness will be produced with new PVC insulated wires, but it will be identical to the original anyway, because they will have the same colored fabric covering as the original cables.

Bakre delen av kupén. Det första staget för att stabilisera karossen innan träet demonteras har svetsats på plats mellan b-stolparna. Fler stag kommer att monteras, dels för att fixera b-stolparna (dessa är i övre änden endast fastskruvade i träkonstruktionen), och dels så att karossen i övrigt behåller formen under det fortsatta arbetet.

The rear portion of the passenger compartment. The first brace for stabilizing the body prior to removing the structural wood has been welded into place between the b-pillars. More braces will be mounted, partly to fix the b-pillar (these are in the upper end only attached to the wooden structure), and partly so that the body will keep its shape during the continuing work.
