Next, after the brakes system and chassis, I started to rebuild the engine compartment and the engine. The gearbox were checked and was left untouched, but the drive shaft with rear axel was overhauled.

Repainted engine compartment. 

Cylinder top as new after rebuilding at an engine workshop. The exhaust valves are new.

Engine during reassembling. Most of the parts could be reused after cleaning and painting, but - of cause -new gaskets, houses, hose clamps and belt etc. were installed.

The engine and engine compartment done. It was fired up for the first time in 25 years, in October 2002.
