Undertiden demonteringen av chassiet pågår sker parallellt renoveringen av olika detaljer. Bland de första detaljerna är tändningslåset.
Meanwhile, the disassembly of the chassis are being performed, the refurbishment of various details takes part. Among the first details are the ignition switch.
Tändningslåset som det såg ut när det demonterades från bilen. Det har rattlåsfunktion och när låset är monterat går rattstången genom hålet till vänster och låser rattstången när nyckeln inte sitter i låset.
The ignition switch as it looked when it was dismantled from the car. It has a steering lock function, so when its mounted in place, the steering column goes through the hole to the left and locks the steering column when the key is not inserted into the lock.
Startläge saknas på låset, så vid start vrids nyckeln 180° och ställs i läge "FAHRT", sedan startas motorn genom en startpedal på golvet som direkt påverkar en arm på startmotorn. Den röda kontrollampan under nyckelhålet är laddningslampan som lyser när tändningen är påslagen och motorn inte har tillräckligt varvtal för att ladda batteriet.
There is no "Start" position for the key, so the engine is started by turning the key 180° to the "FAHRT" position, and then pressing a start-pedal on floor, witch are directly connected to an arm of the starter motor. The red indicator lamp below the keyhole is the charge warning light that glows when the ignition is switched is on and the engine not have enough RPM to charge the battery.
Resultatet efter renoveringen. Nyckel saknades, men nyckelkoden var instansad på baksidan av låset, så ett par nya Neiman originalnycklar beställdes från en låssmed i Tyskland. De levererades efter några dagar och passade perfekt.
Renovation done. The key was missing, but the key code was impressed on the back side of the lock, so a couple of new Neiman original keys could be ordered from a locksmith in Germany. They was delivered after a few days and fit perfectly.
Under skyddslocket på baksidan av låset sitter elanslutningen. Laddningslampan sitter lätt åtkomlig om den skulle behöva bytas ut, men originallampan visade sig fortfarande fungera vid kontroll.
The electrical connections behind the protective cover on the back of the lock. The charging warning lamp are easily accessible if it needs to be replaced, but the original bulb was still working.
